This is so cool! How close did you actually get and what type of equipment did you use to capture this? I tried to get close to a yellow jacket amongst about 5 on a row of Rose of Sharon bushes and one of them heard the sound of lens movement and dive bombed my camera. I think they were drawn as though it were a flower and wanted inside. I called it quits and headed for the air conditioning so I was glad to be inside. I'd love to try something like this beautiful creature.
Hi Soul Friend… I was on my morning walk and I walked up on this guy… we stared each other down for a few. Then I ran home and grabbed my Canon DSLR… Thank the Universe he was still sunbathing. I got down on my knees about 8-10 feet from him (we have a short term relationship lol) and he posed… This was the best shot though. I am still amazed and honored to have been able to capture his image… The next day, he and his mate were out on the prowl… however, when I pulled the camera out… he played me off and flew up in a tree… I guess he figured I had enough to work with…. :-) These moments mean the world to me…. connecting with nature… interconnected with all.
We were able to study each other for 5 minutes the first time and when I came back with my camera…. about 10 minutes…. I was talking to him, we are buds… These birds live around here and I hear them daily. A few years ago, he was sitting on my patio fence lookin fierce, that was the first encounter and he left me a feather… so I'd like to believe that we have some kind of connection… Thanks for asking… not many people appreciate these magical moments.
I definitely think those are special experiences spiritually between hu8manity and nature linking them both to the Divine so I see it very mystically. The experiences of this sort can easily bring a message to your soul. I've experienced amazing ones with owls and deer.

That's an incredibly close distance! How long did that privilege last?
