When was the last time you felt at peace?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 17, 2008:
I think, feeling at peace is a state of mind, so I do my best never to lay me down to sleep without feeling at peace. This is in responce to the question at hand... Before I lay me down, I contemplate and reconcile the day’s events, accomplishments and challenges, knowing that I did my best and whatever was not done.... well there is always tomorrow.
This way when I wake up I can feel at peace...
I feel at peace during the day when I observe nature doing it’s thing while I’m doing mine, whether it’s a glimpse of a flowering yard as I drive by, a cloud, the moon, a tree waving in the breeze, a smile.... these all bring me peace during the day. It helps me to stay in tune and focused with what’s really important... Being in the moment.
Peace...

I love your'e answer, spirit in action -and it is so true.
Thankyou for reminding me -as i do find peace in nature and
it IS a state of mind, that we can choose.
I too choose peace!!
Peace is your true nature the mind gets in the way of peace. Cut off the thinking mind and sublime peace is automatic. Don't choose, don't make anything just Be and you will see that peace has always been there.
Stay Groovy and Om Shanti!

I think peace needs to be defined before we are able to achieve it.
What is peace?
Understanding
Respect
Trust
Love
Spirit
Oneness
internal quiet
Abundance
Balance
One cannot create peace if we don't understand or define it.
If no one feared that there was lack in the world…love, money, food….would we have world peace, but then what brings you to internal peace?
The best way I have found to create peace is to remember what peace is and think of something/someone that exudes peace…i.e. babies, puppies, nature….those things that make one feel peaceful. Then, I try to live from this peaceful feeling spreading it to all those I encounter.
What are your thoughts?
Peace is simply stilling the mind.
Thank you my Brother! and Rachel
Like I said earlier… I never go to sleep without clearing the clutter, turning off my minds TV receiver as it were, running the test pattern, end of broadcast… The emptying and stilling my mind before I lay me down to sleep… sometimes it begins earlier…
On a secular level, I also believe we/you/us, have to arrive at a place of contentment with self. Being happy with who you are on a cellular level. Authentic Self Acceptance with out self judgment or that of others… (Virgo's have that down :-) ie. Eternal Grooviness… The state of mind? Having no need to be in control, non-attachment to the outcome of… no expectations (well… I am human), but my disappointments are fewer and my suprises from the Universe are greater and exceed my wildest dreams. It is what It is… BEing in the flow!
So many people toil around unhappy and in conflict… and have no clue. I have a friend who thinks a class or book is all she needs but has no idea, she/they want the quick fix. And as we all know true wisdom is not something you can purchase.
I also have great peace as I observe nature and feel the interconnection… I feel content. Ocean meditation works for me too… breathing in-sync with the waves ebb and flow (gotta be at the beach though)… floating in a pool with my eyes closed… no sound… just cradled by water… floating.
But the best! as my Bro says… still the mind… and exhale (my 2 cents)
